Highlights from Huttoft Pitt yesterday Visit from 1000-1400hrs
'European' White-fronted Goose 5 (2ads and 3imms) in field near the Pitt Pink-footed Goose 2 with White-fronts in field Short-eared Owl 1 (hunting along the ditch by the parking lay-by) Whooper Swan 56 (51ads and 5imms) in adjacent field Wigeon 70 (in field behind Pitt) Common Gull 200 (sadly no Iceland Gull in amongst them) in adjacent field
The sea was very poor with nothing of note.
The Pitt was quiet with 2 Canada Goose, 3 Coot, a drake Pochard, a drake Teal, 3 Tufted Duck (2 drakes and a duck) and a Grey Heron. The 5 White-fronts dropped in for a quick bath for about 15 minutes then returned to the field.
Cheers,
Richard
