In the fog a flock of 66 Whoopers flew right over my head heading north early am at Alkborough : another flock appeared to go down the Trent but hidden by the fog then 16 dropped in and were joined by a family of four: early afternoon the birds on the ground all started calling and a herd of 37 appeared from the south and landed on the Humber. Also in the spring like temps were singing Chiffchaff and Blackcap, at least 8 Buzzards interacting, displaying Marsh Harriers sky dancing, 2100 Barnacle Geese accompanied by the usual Snow Barnacle hybrid and the Cackling Goose Barnacle hybrid showing well, the first time I have actually seen it for about 4 years. At Reads Island surprisingly still 10,000 Golden Plover and 1500 Dunlin plus 220 Avocets.
