The partly flooded fields proved attractive to a good range of wildfowl this morning (12 species) with a single barnacle goose being a local patch 'tick' for me (my species no. 140 for Marton village/Trent Port area, since moving there in 2000). Also noted were:
Greylag goose 46
Canada goose 2
Mute swan 14
Shelduck 3
Shoveler 2
Wigeon 130
Gadwall 18
Tufted duck 8
Pochard 1
Mallard 25
Teal 2
Lapwing 2
Curlew 1
Redshank 1
Oystercatcher 2
Fieldfare 350 (in cattle pasture north of windmill)
Redwing 45 (as above)
Carrion crow, a murder of 22 together in middle of arable field.
Treecreeper 2
Little owl 1
Grey wagtail 1 west
Sparrowhawk 1
Common buzzard 3
kestrel 2
