A Great Northern Diver flew north at sea with 7 Red-throated Divers this morning. A few thrushes were apparent on the dunes at the south end, hence 3 'Continental-looking' Song Thrushes and 2 very grey Robins, 2 Redwings, 25 Blackbirds and 2 Mistle Thrushes. A Woodcock and a Brambling were both new birds.

Baumber/ Hemingby

Yesterday a large flock of Starlings c300 were feeding on the grassland at Baumber and were most restless with a few Fieldfare amongst them.

This morning in broad daylight a Woodcock flew in front of me at Hemingby into cover at the base of a tall trackside hedge.

Winter visitors are definitely on the move and heading east!
