I looked up this morning at 0635 from eating my porridge to see a Barn Owl fly through a gap in our hedge to drop on prey (probably a Bank Vole) on the inside of our garden hedge. I don't think that it was successful as it flew straight up and back through the gap and in to the field.
The Barn Owl often patrols along the conservation headland adjacent to our property but only very rarely ventures in to our garden.
A nice garden tick!
