An excellent day for migrants today, with the following being recorded on the reserve:

Osprey in off the sea and headed west (a nice surprise whilst out doing a butterfly transect this afternoon!)
Red Kite south
Common Buzzard 10+ (several south)
Pied Flycatcher 1 (Plantation, near Betty Alan Hide)
Short-eared Owl 1
Sand Martin 5
Wheatear 6
Grey Wagtail 1
Yellow Wagtail 6
Whitethroat 3
Lesser Whitethroat 1 (first of the year)
Blackcap 3
White Wagtail 1
Fieldfare 8
Spotted Redshank 2
Mediterranean Gull 2

Springs arrived then Richard. Hope the easterlies & this weather continues till w/end. See you Saturday maybe but in a bit of sunshine, hopefully.. ;0).

thought it was a osprey about 13.30 hrs ish but only got a look up its tailpipe as it headed north west
i was only around the plantation area etc
