57 species, BirdTracked, recorded on patch today. Highlights were:- 1 Swift over the mere pm 2 Common Sandpipers and 1 Oystercatcher at mere 1 female Wheatear still on potato field down Pig lane 1 male Yellow Wagtail 2 Tree Sparrows c15 Skylarks 5 Yellowhammers 6 Reed Buntings 7 Buzzards in the air together 3 Sparrowhawks with one pair displaying c40 House Martins, c20 Swallows and c10 Sand Martins feeding over mere Chiffchaffs, Willow Warblers, Blackcaps, Whitethroats & Reed Warblers singing With Rick Bennett |

This evening there were 3 Egyptian Geese, 2 Shelduck & 4 Gadwall on flooded cow field. A Tawny Owl was calling from Catchwater copse. Brings the day list to 60 species. |
