Lea Marsh (southern part near Knaith) 2 May 2016 06.00-07.15 Common sandpiper 3 along River Trent (could have been more as frequently heard moving up and down river with a max of 3 seen at any one time). Wheatear 1 male Yellow wagtail 3 (2 birds in song) Curlew 4 (displaying) Oystercatcher 2 pairs Lapwing 4 Little owl 1 Tree sparrow 5 Sand Martin 60+ (investigating earth cliffs in riverbank) Shelduck 2 pairs Gadwall 2 pairs Wigeon 4 (still present in pools on Notts side of Trent) Grey partridge 2 Sedge warbler 2 in song (Plus roe deer seen swimming across the Trent to get to Lea Marsh) |
