Location: North Somercotes
At 1020 a Rough-legged Buzzard came in over the mudflats and dunes at the south end and after some leisurely wheeling continued SW and passed over North Somercotes Warren. This must surely be the bird recorded at Flamborough and Spurn over the past couple of days. Other raptors seen this morning were a Hobby which flew south at 1130, 4 Kestrels, a Sparrowhawk, a Peregrine and 4 Common Buzzards. One Short-eared Owl was also noted.
Some northerly visible passage along the dunes was apparent, hence 2 Lesser Black-backs, 150 Linnets, 21 Siskins, 8 Goldfinches, one Common Swift, 27 Swallows and 8 Sand Martins. One Common Redstart was present.
