7 Swifts over roof tops in West Street Boston this morning @ 11.50 making their usual long drawn out harsh screeming This probably suggests that these are part of our resident population as it is
usually silent on passage.
5 H Martins locally at present which arrived on Saturday 30 April. One pair have already built a nest under the eaves on the east wall of our house and seem to have completed that in about 6 days. My records seem to suggest that egg-laying does not start until the latter part of May so why the hurry? Perhaps the inside lining of the cup is still to be completed or even three broods are being considered this year!!!
