A probable female Red-backed Shrike was seen briefly at distance near the old coastguard cottages. Despite a fair bit of waiting and searching, I could not find the bird again. Most migrants were in depleted numbers in the cold wind, the best being singles of Common Tern, Common Sandpiper and Marsh Harrier. Four singing male Corn Buntings was my best count so far this year.
