Three male Cuckoo, advertising from various points around the recording area today.

Three pairs of Oystercatcher, two pairs still on eggs and one pair with three half grown young.

Also, I know Grahame Hopwood is out now as I write, tirelessly undertaking a nocturnal survey of the main Whisby Nightingale sub colony. East of the A46 bypass the sub colony there held three males, still singing sublimely late evening.

Regards,

Ben

Best bits from the last two days were; a fine drake Garganey on Thorpe/Grebe Lake yesterday and a surprise brief showing of a Spot Fly in the extreme NE corner of Apex Pit tonight.

Ben
