Three male Cuckoo, advertising from various points around the recording area today. Three pairs of Oystercatcher, two pairs still on eggs and one pair with three half grown young. Also, I know Grahame Hopwood is out now as I write, tirelessly undertaking a nocturnal survey of the main Whisby Nightingale sub colony. East of the A46 bypass the sub colony there held three males, still singing sublimely late evening. Regards, Ben |

Best bits from the last two days were; a fine drake Garganey on Thorpe/Grebe Lake yesterday and a surprise brief showing of a Spot Fly in the extreme NE corner of Apex Pit tonight. Regards, Ben |
