An adult Caspian Tern was at Middlemarsh Farm on the afternoon of 130616 and again present from 0700 to 1000 140616. This bird had a BTO type metal ring on the right leg. Around 1140 on 140616 2 adult Caspian Tern (!) were together on Tennyson's Sands at Gib Point NNR, one of which was (presumably!) the bird seen at Middlemarsh due to a ring on the right leg. Patch tick number 300 and what impressive beasts they are too.

At last a bogey bird out the way with 2 Caspian Terns in the pouring rain at 19:10 on Tennyson Sands.

Seen to fly off 5 minutes later, magnificent birds.

One on Tennysons when I arrived at 17:25 then the second bird flew in and joined it. Some brief interaction between the two but no really obvious size difference, is there much between male and female Caspian Terns? One threw up a pellet at 18:10 and as a huge thunderstorm arrived from the south east they flew off together north but one peeled off and went east towards the Mere while the other continued north.
