Two singing Quail reported on Twitter by Chris Atkin yesterday, still present in 2nd (pea) and 3rd (wheat)fields North of the haven across the drain behind the sea wall at 10.45 this morning. One distant and one fairly close. Very little chance of seeing these birds and there is no access to or around the fields. Listen from seawall only.

Still singing infrequently in the second pea-field north of the haven this afternoon. I could only hear the bird nearest the sea-bank, but Josh Forrester could discern the distant bird with his far younger and sharper hearing. A Short-eared Owl was at Pye's Hall, otherwise only the usual fare was seen around the realignment area.

Thank you for the compliment Steve! It was a pleasure to meet you. The second bird was barely audible, perhaps right at the back of the pea-field or in the field behind it.
