Frampton 360 hide was THE place to be today for wader enthusiasts. Even the most ardent pessimist could not but be converted by the amazing variety of waders on offer. In four hours watching from the hide alone I managed 19 species. Broad-billed Sandpiper in the scope with Pectoral Sandpiper with Curlew Sand and Little Stint close by!
Species seen.
Oystercatcher.
Avocet
Little Ringed Plover
Ringed Plover
Lapwing
Knot
Dunlin
Curlew Sandpiper
Broad-billed Sandpiper
Little Stint
Common Sandpiper
Pectoral Sandpiper
Redshank
Spotted Redshank
Greenshank
Black-tailed Godwit
Curlew
Snipe
Ruff

Congratulations to the Frampton team for having the Scrapes in perfect condition at just the right time.
Any guesses at what will be next?

When you read posts like this Ed you do appreciate the work the goes on around the reserve. It also makes you want to press the LIKE button as you would do on Facebook and Twitter

The Broad-billed Sandpiper was an absolute cracker! I could add two flyover Green Sandpipers to the impressive list, Ed.

Which other wader reserves might benefit from Frampton-style methods?
