Post subject:  Spotted Flycatcher

One at Garthorpe today, a garden tick after 15 years of waiting. We recorded Pied Flycatcher with a week or so of moving in (not common inland and apparently never recorded at Blacktoft Sands next door), so it's been a long wait for the "commoner" species.

Riseholme College
15th August 4.00pm

2 spotted flycatcher feeding in cherry and birch trees in the centre of the college close to the main hall.
Spotted flycatcher have been present all summer at Riseholme with some attempt at nesting.
