A trip to the coast while I still can! My first visit to Paradise Pools. Just didn't know it was there. I wonder why I have wasted my time on the newly created lagoons at Saltfleet Haven - just a few hundred yards away Best bird was a little stint. c200 redshank, dunlin (60) common sandpiper (2) black-tailed godwit (1), a sanderling and a common tern Also a juvenile water rail and two yellow wagtail at Manby. With a supporting cast of green & common sandpipers, black-tailed godwit, ruff and dunlin |

The pool water level is pretty low currently but will fill with the weekend spring tides we will then let some water off to maintain a wet muddy margin for waders , The lagoon has been pulling in a wide variety of birds over the past month, and ( I hope ) should continue to do so over coming weeks, so hope you enjoy further visits Chris ( the Saltfleet Lakes are best in the winter when few holiday dog walkers and fishermen visit). regards John |

You must be a mind reader. Was wondering if when water levels would increase on Paradise pool.. Appreciate it. |

Whereabouts exactly is Pardise Pool please? I know the Paradise car park just South of Saltfleet Haven but I am not aware of Paradise Pool, so directions would be appreciated. |

Hi Paul, had same problem finding it myself a couple of weeks ago. If you drive into Saltfleet from Rimac / Sea View direction go round the bends and then there's a stretch with the drain on right before the road bends left and you have the brick wall of the bridge in front. Don't follow the main road into the village but take the small track on the right just before the bridge. You will see a small recycling centre. Park there and Paradise is a very short distance from there. Hope makes sense. James |

My instructions provided by Derek Evans when I asked the same question a few weeks ago just south of Saltfleet Haven! Heading south from Saltfleet village, drive over Saltfleet Haven then as you round the R/hand bend, turn immediately left over the bridge and head down lane towards boatyard & upto the gate. Park on top of bank. You can't miss it on the left just behind floodbank. |
