A juvenile Stonechat at the south end was my first-ever August record for the site. Other migrants present included 15 Willow Warblers, 30 Common Whitethroats and singles of Wheatear, Whinchat and Common Redstart. Also on the dunes were 2 Green Sandpipers, a Marsh Harrier, 14 Teal, a Green Woodpecker, a Great Spotted Woodpecker and a Water Rail. A party of 3 juvenile Yellow-legged Gulls came from inland and continued out to the shore where 3 Whimbrel and an Arctic Skua flew south. |
