The juvenile Stonechat remained from yesterday, but disappointingly there were fewer migrants present at the south end this morning. Warblers totalled 15 Common Whitethroats, one Lesser Whitethroat, 6 Willow Warblers, one Chiffchaff, 3 Reed Warblers and 3 Sedge Warblers. Other migrants were 4 flava wagtails, one Wheatear, one Song Thrush, one Common Redstart and one Pied Flycatcher. Three Ruffs flew north over the dunes and a Red-throated Diver flew north at sea. Tern and wader numbers were poor, but 2 Arctic Skuas and a 3rd cy Mediterranean Gull were seen. A Merlin was hunting along the outmarsh. With Martin Sizer. |
