An evening visit to Pye's Hall for the roosting tern movement resulted in 1,630 Common Terns, 10 Arctic Terns, 10 Sandwich Terns and 2 Black Terns. 29 Cormorants flew into the Humber and 7 Arctic Skuas went south in the failing light. An Osprey was hunting over the sea for some time, but was not seen to catch anything, while other raptors were at least 6 Kestrels and singles of Hobby, Peregrine and Merlin. Two Greenshanks and 2 Wheatears were also seen. |
