Highlights around the realignment area included 3 Spoonbills, 53 Little Egrets which is the highest count so far this year, 2 Spotted Redshanks, 4 Greenshanks, 5 Ruffs, an adult Mediterranean Gull, a Marsh Harrier and 5 Corn Buntings. Migrants were fewer, the most notable being 8 Willow Warblers, one Garden Warbler, 3 Yellow Wagtails, 3 Wheatears and 2 Whinchats. 160 Swallows headed north or NW. The Osprey was on a post out from Pye's Hall and a juvenile Peregrine was unsuccessful in its pursuit of a racing/feral pigeon over the mudflats. Six Common Buzzards were seen over the inland copses.
