Post subject:  Excitement in Woodhall

After six weeks very uneventful birding, this morning was exciting! 45 species, all on BirdTrack, including the following local highlights:
Teal 1 (first since April)
Hobby 1
Green Sandpiper 2 (the nearest to a flock of waders I expect to see)
Chiffchaff 10+ (with many singing today)
Willow Warbler 2
Blackcap 6+
Whitethroat 2
Reed Warbler 2
Spot Fly 1

Still no new species since late June, however!

Sightings at the LWT open day at Woodhall airfield nature reserve on Sunday 1109 included
Marsh Harrier 3, Osprey 1 ,Little Ringed Plover 5 ,Green woodpecker 2 ,Whinchat 1, Wheatear 1,
lots of wildfowl, also a flyover spitfire.
