Post subject:  Donna Nook, 5th October.

A Yellow-browed Warbler and a Ring Ouzel in my garden were a good omen before I set off for the south end. Three more Yellow-browed Warblers and 2 more Ring Ouzels were found on the dunes, plus a Red-breasted Flycatcher (in the dead willow hedge by the flashes), 30 Song Thrushes, 26 Redwings, 8 Robins, 2 Chiffchaffs, 12 Goldcrests, a Whinchat, a Stonechat and an early Woodcock. Moving north at sea were 2 Sooty Shearwaters, 8 Gannets, one Great Skua, 3 Kittiwakes, 29 Brent Geese and 3 Pinkfeet. 12 Wigeon and 3 Sandwich Terns flew south. Two adult Mediterranean Gulls were on the mudflats.
