Visited Alkborough Flats for the first time this morning between 09:30 am and 12 pm. 36 species were recorded : Avocet Bearded Tit two groups noted. Each group contained between 15 and 20 individuals. Black Tailed Godwit Blackbird Canada Goose Cormorant Curlew Fieldfare Goldfinch Great White Egret flew over car park heading towards the River Trent as I arrived at site. Greater Spotted Woodpecker Grey Heron Grey Plover 3 Kestrel 1 Lapwing 100's Little Egret 3 Little Grebe 1 Magpie Mallard Marsh Harrier 2 Pheasant Pink-footed Goose Redshank Redwing Reed Bunting Robin Shelduck Shoveler Snipe Starling Teal 100's Purple Gallinule could be seen showing well from hide located on footpath from disabled parking area to Trent Falls. Whooper Swan 2 Wigeon 100's Woodpigeon Wren All entered into Bird Track. Regards Jon |
