RSPB Tetney Marshes 1 Whooper Swan 2 Pale-bellied Brent Geese with c800 Dark-bellied 1 Shag 1 Long-tailed Duck 19 Scaup 5 Velvet Scoter 280 Common Scoter 1 Marsh Harrier 1 Pallid Harrier - showing on and off throughout the day 2 Hen Harrier (male and ringtail) 1 Peregrine 1 Merlin 3 Short-eared Owl 2 Water Rail 1 Woodcock 1 Kingfisher 1 Grey Wagtail 1 Shorelark 2 Stonechat 1 Male Bullfinch flying high N right out over the beach was probably of northern origin 2 Lapland Bunting 5 Snow Bunting + a Barn Owl at Tetney Lock Regards Chris (with Dave Wright) |

Hi Chris, For an unmanaged area it's currently producing a good selection of species, of course topped off with the star harrier hunting over it. The mixture of saltmarsh, beach and the Humber mouth help to create a decent day list. |

Not an area I know at all though I do recall visiting it for dotterel and tawny pipit a few yeas ago. Really haven't a clue about how to get on to the beach |

It's a reserve where do you have to work hard for a good list of species and cover a considerable distance. You can access the beach by walking N below the seabank and along the saltmarsh edge from Horseshoe Point - it is a long walk though. regards Chris |
