Thursday lunchtime and late afternoon today sighted around Car park to rear of Pleasure Island
B/H Gull, ringed, single ring on right leg.

Unable to read ring as bird very mobile due to people/dogs
Hopefully other interested birders will be more successful

Ringed B/H Gull
seen several times since, but today has been only time it was stood long enough to read (partially)
ring info, HA36 only marks visible before bird disturbed.

Not a lot to go on but has any of our experts any clues

This is likely to be a continental ringed BHG as British ones will start off "E", so you will need to get the country as well as the full number. Good luck!

Thank you for your input, Alan. Much appreciated.

This bird is easy enough to find, but really difficult to get close sighting because of nature of location.

Need lots of luck

Comment from John Birkett (email supplied)

I have been looking at the Lincs Bird Club sightings forum and came across the discussion about the ringed Black-headed Gull at Cleethorpes. The partial coding that has been read starting with letters HA suggest that it was ringed in Lithuania. I keep an eye on records of ringed birds seen in Croydon (Greater London) on behalf of the local RSPB Group and all those with ring numbers beginning HA have been ringed in Lithuania. I would have posted this info on the forum, but am not a member of LBC hence using this route.

Thank you John for your information, very interesting, appreciate you contacting LBC site, most welcome.

Will endeavour to get the full ring info to hopefully confirm your thoughts.

Thanks to Andrew for the posting
