We have had SEOs at their usual winter location on the east side of South Kyme for a few weeks (just walk along the river on the south side of the golf course and the areas between the first small wood and the second is a prime spot, plus around the trees planted on the north side around the chicken units.
This afternoon (14.30- 15.30) was somewhat exceptional as at one stage we had 8 SEOs in sight (4 on the north side and 4 on the south). On the south side it was almost like watching a group of red kites and they were frequently going to ground on a freshly ploughed field. 2 kestrels and a barn owl added to the spectacle.
I only saw 2 SEOs last Sunday and may not get another chance to go back until next Sunday.
