After starting the day in Sainsbury's car park Hessle for 24 Waxwings, via Rutland dam for the Surf Scoter Chris Grimshaw and I ended up at Hawthorpe for 6 SEOs and 6 Red Kites. Andrew |

Took the opportunity to have another look at the surf scoter and then went on to Hawthorpe once again This time there was nine short-eared owls and at least eight red kites |

I had at least 10 SEOs on the 2nd - could have been 11 - first time I can recall having double figures at the site - more cars than owls though |
