Trent Port area, Marton 5th Feb 2017 09.15-10.45 A rewarding stroll around local patch produced: Cetti's warbler calling (only my 2nd record here and hopefully indicating colonisation of the site going forwards). Raven 1 calling and 'pylon-hopping' from Lincs into Notts. Barn owl 1. Hunting over wetland area. Pink-footed geese. Fairly large movement NW from 09.55-10.05 involving over 350 birds in three skeins (high up). Ruff 1 Redshank 3 Lapwing 500+ (with a large movement of over 2000 yesterday south along river valley). Golden plover 20 N Snipe 3 (wetland area) Wigeon 85 (river) Teal 7 (wetland area and river) Gadwall 2m 1f (wetland area) Shoveler pair (wetland area) Fieldfare 125 (in pasture alongside river) Yellowhammer 65 (in stubble field and hedgerow near pumping station) Linnet 45 (arable field to south) Red-legged partridge 20+ Tree sparrow 2 Buzzard 2 Starling 500 (plus brown hare and fox sightings).
