Saturday 4th February 230 to 5pm 2 Kingfishers on drain , 2 jays over , 3 Bullfinch in hedge , 17 Goldfinch , 2 Kestrel, 1 Buzzard On Mere 29 Goosanders ( males and females ) displaying. 11 gadwall 20 + Tufted 7 Mallard 3 Shoveler 1 Water rail 7 Cormorant 2000 + gulls mainly BH but odd Commons and herring At late afternoon great spectacle of starling murmuration approx. 6000 to 8000 birds + 2 roe deer on bankside |
