Views of the birds feeding on the tide-wrack at the south end were unattainable until after the bombing range had closed. In the appalling failing light, the best counts I could obtain were 22 Shore Larks, 32 Lapland Buntings, 20 Reed Buntings and 15 Yellowhammers. Elsewhere, there was a Short-eared Owl on the dunes and 6 Whooper Swans on the fields.
