Post subject:  How the years change

This morning I awoke to a gray sky and a very light dusting of snow. Frequenting the feeders were the usual dozen or so goldfinch, one or two dunnock and the odd robin. Then about 10:00 o'clock the sky cleared and low and and behold a lesser redpoll dropped in. The first of the winter for the garden. Bear in mind that last winter from October to April I had had counted nearly 1500 redpoll which were present on the feeders for 161 days. I still await the first siskin and brambling which were also frequent during the winter months last year
