Highlights seen during the WeBS count for the realignment area included a Pochard (becoming very infrequent here), a Shoveler, 1,100 Brent Geese, 950 Golden Plovers, 580 Lapwings, 80 Twite, 20 Fieldfares, 2 Stonechats, one Merlin and one Hen Harrier.

Pochard now seem to be irregular on the lake in Cleethorpes country park compared with the winters of yesteryear.

By contrast, there are often up to a dozen on Cleethorpes boating lake.

Tufties are less choosy - they are happy at both sites.
