Wednesday 0730 2 Little Egrets in the running dyke right in the middle of Rothwell village and a Raven over calling as it went on Wednesday. Over a hundred Mute Swans in a rape field between Bassingham and Thurlby are still being joined by Whoopers in the evening, but fewer now. 8 Whoopers flew in to join the Mutes at dusk yesterday evening but a few weeks ago there were around 30. The Whoopers don't seem to be around during the day- only the Mutes. Rippingale -my garden. 2 Blackcaps up to 6 Redpolls, 1 Siskin, 1 Brambling and 5 LT Tits are the current highlights. Let's hope we get good birding weather this weekend! Ian |
