An update on this. I took a detour to work this morning and headed through Bottesford (07:45). In a tree on Holme Lane very near the junction with Manor Road were a bunch of Waxwings. Brilliant for me as they're my first. Unfortunately I didn't have my camera in the car. Didn't look to be 90 though, but plenty of them. Thanks for the previous heads up on this. Edit - popped back approx 09:30 and the birds were still around - approx 30 at times. They were feeding in 2 trees, but pretty skittish and didn't take much disturbing and often shot off in the direction of St Peter's Church |

There were no waxwings present at this location at 07:30 this morning |

Circa 30 at location until 1030hrs when they flew south towards the church. They were very 'skittish' throughout my stay and the berries are now very much depleted. |

Up to 80 present at the location this afternoon. Coming to feed in very short 'bursts' and spending most time resting in nearby trees. There until I left when the sun disappeared around 1500hrs. |

Plenty of birds at 07:35 this morning, but behaved as normal by erupting from the tree they were feeding in and headed off towards St Peter's Church |

When they fly off it may be worth checking around Keddington Rd near the Black Beauty they were seen there a few years ago and there are plenty of trees that get berries on in the area: On Glanford Rd, Ogilvy Dr and others Last time I was there some trees still had berries on them. Thanks Steve. Funnily enough I was out with another birder last night and he told me he'd previously seen the birds near the Black Beauty. As of 07:40 this morning the birds were still feeding on Holme Hall Avenue (I've just realised the actual section where they are morphs from Holme Lane to Holme Hall Avenue) in 2 trees between number 15 and number 19. |

75 there this morning but reliably informed there have been 105 this week. Very few berries left over the road now so birds reluctant to spend long feeding on this crazily busy road: where are all these pointless car journeys taking people? |
