An enjoyable day spent around the reserve today although finding a sheltered spot from the gusty westerly wind was the order of the day. A few of the more notable sightings;
Little Egret - singles on Jacksons Marsh and Tennyson Sands plus 2 on old saltmarsh Black tailed Godwit - 3 on Jacksons Marsh Snipe - 1 on Jacksons, 2 on Tennyson and 1 on Mere Pink footed Goose - 4 on Croft Marsh Pintail - 4 on Tennyson Sands Goldeneye - pair on Mere Rock Pipit - at least 3 on outer saltings Hen Harrier - 1 male (poss 3CY) on Old Saltmarsh Corn Bunting - 27 pre roost gathering by car park
A good variety of wildfowl and waders were present across the freshwater areas and the estuary. The sea was very quiet.
Roe Deer - 3 on old saltmarsh at dusk
