 Post subject: Good Redpoll passage

At the moment there are good numbers in the Willingham Forest area as well as more than usual Brambling. This month I have caught 83 (including the only Mealy and three others ringed elsewhere)at Occupation Lane as well as 7 Brambling and a few Siskin. I know it is April when I find those three species plus a Chiffchaff and a Blackcap in the same net!

Ah, I was beginning where they were disappearing to. On average we were getting 10 lesser redpoll per day. We have now just topped 500 in total since the first of the year appeared on Feb 10th. I have also counted 34 mealy redpoll during the past month with a maximum of four on one dy. Brambling have been non-existant this year unfortunately
