Post subject:  Donna Nook, 6th April.

Some good raptor passage was apparent at the south end. Earlier, there were 2 Common Buzzards over North Somercotes Warren and another on the dunes, the latter moving off to the NW. At 1230, another Common Buzzard in the company of a Red Kite thermalled over the fields and they eventually disappeared into dots as they slowly moved to the SE. At 1245, 3 more Common Buzzards appeared, thermalling and calling, to be joined by 3 more a few minutes later, and they, too, moved gradually higher and to the SE. A Sparrowhawk also flew NW. Other species were moving mainly north and included 6 Pink-footed Geese over the mudflats and 170 Linnets and 16 Chaffinches along the dunes.
The only summer visitors seen were 2 Chiffchaffs and a Willow Warbler. A Water Rail and a Corn Bunting were noted.
