I met up with Oliver Woodman, Head of Operations at Hill Holt Wood, Norton Disney and he kindly showed me three 2017 Spotted Flycatcher nest construction sites in the general admin. buildings area, the birds having arrived c.15th May. We also located a current Pied Wagtail nest.

I spent some time wandering around the area connecting with the occasional SpotFly. Many thanks, Oliver. :D

I also visited the traditional SpotFly site near the old St. Peters Church, Aubourn but, despite a fair amount of searching, there was no sign of Muscicapa striata on the usual wires or anywhere else.
A Buzzard and a Green Woodpecker did show, however.
