There was a RBA report of a Wood Sandpiper this morning so I looked in this afternoon but the waterlevels were still high and the only birds seen were broods of Shelduck and Tufted Duck. The second flash is usually completely dry at this time of the year but I decided to have a look anyway. 2 Kingfisher flew along the stream, the path to the garden shed hide was hard going as it was very overgrown but the hide was still standing though on it's last legs. Waders seen were 3 Lapwings, 1 Snipe, 1 Greenshank, 2 Green Sandpiper and the Wood Sandpiper ( I bet this flash is where all the rarities have been this summer). If anyone fancies visiting the garden shed you have to go into the field with the wind turbine in it and walk along the hedge line, there is a log book in the hide.
