This afternoon (Thursday), I found a Spotted Flycatcher flycatching from the eastern edge of the Swanpool Copse. I watched it for a good 10 minutes as it flew out a number of times away from the line of trees to catch insects and then returned to a favoured perch. Also a male Blackcap nearby, feeding on Elderberries. Despite searching the Cowfield hedges (well away from the Copse), I couldn't locate Andy's SpotFly of this morning (31 Aug). Freddy |
