Generally there were fewer birds about at the south end today, but still one or two decent species present. The bird of the day was a superb 1stW Little Bunting trapped and ringed near Quad 3, but on release it disappeared into the buckthorn and was not seen again. Other birds ringed here included 30 Reed Buntings, 2 Goldcrests, 2 Blackcaps and one each of Yellow-browed Warbler, Reed Warbler, Spotted Flycatcher, Redstart and Whinchat. Elsewhere there were 2 more Yellow-browed Warblers, another Redstart, 3 Goldcrests, a Brambling, 12 Long-tailed Tits and 2 Marsh Harriers.
