142 Pink-footed Geese in five skeins flew south, also 35 headed NW and 97 SW. Thrushes at the south end were 42 Blackbirds, 24 Song Thrushes and 67 Redwings. Significant counts of other migrants were 130 Meadow Pipits, one Rock Pipit, 20 Robins, 3 Chiffchaffs, a Blackcap, 10 Goldcrests, a Common Redstart, a Bullfinch and a Great Spotted Woodpecker. Two Whooper Swans and a Spoonbill were on the flashes, the latter departing to the north. 13 Red-throated Divers flew north at sea, 60 Brent Geese were onshore and a Marsh Harrier was over the outmarsh. |

Between the RAF base and Pyes Hall with GPC today: 1 Bean Goose NW Regular skeins of Pinkfeet over but not counted 1 Peregrine 1 Spotted Redshank 2 Greenshank 1 Jack Snipe 1 Great Spotted Woodpecker 1 Kingfisher 1 Swallow 2 Stonechat 2 Grey Wagtail 25 Redwing 20 Song Thrush 1 Pied Flycatcher 5 Yellow-browed Warbler 4 Chiffchaff 10 Goldcrest 2 Brambling 2 Lesser Redpoll 1 Siskin 1 Twite Regards Chris |
