A few new arrivals toady. Highlights at the south end included 270 Redwings, 3 Fieldfares, 55 Blackbirds, 20 Song Thrushes, a Yellow-browed Warbler, 2 Chiffchaffs, a Whinchat, 2 Stonechats, a Brambling, 4 Lesser Redpolls, 8 Tree Sparrows, 7 Rock Pipits, 19 Long-tailed Tits, 2 Coal Tits, (first record since August 2015), 2 Great Spotted Woodpeckers, 40 Pink-footed Geese and a Peregrine. |

At Pyes Hall today were a ringtail Hen Harrier, 1 Merlin, 1 Pink-footed Goose, 1 Blackcap, 3 Chiffchaff and a Goldcrest. Circa 40 Brent Geese were on the beach. |

I walked sheltered dunes Stonebridge to PH 1400 to 1545 Can only add c 600 golden plover c 460 oystercatchers 140 redshank c 190 brent geese on foreshore all flushed by circling v22 osprey with rear gunner strafing target, ( they only cost 73 million $ each at least some visitors at the seal fence had some entertaining close views , but b*****d up my brent goose age survey) regards John |
