Trent Port area and Marton Village
A circuit of local patch on a frosty morning produced a total of 51 species including:
Cetti's warbler 1 calling (plus good views)
Water rail 1 calling
Linnet c110 in mixed finch flock in field alongside Littleborough Lane (pheasant cover crop)
Goosander 4 redheads N along Trent @10.30
Snipe 9
Redshank 4
Golden plover 10
Lapwing 55
Kingfisher 1
Wigeon 40
Teal 2
Little grebe 2
Buzzard 4
Sparrowhawk 1
Bullfinch 6
Lesser redpoll 1 (with goldfinch flock)
Jackdaw c.400 S (leaving roost at Gate Burton)
Rook c.600 S (leaving roost at Gate Burton)
