Post subject: Sparrowhawk - mixed feelings

Just heard commotion whilst sorting garden out. Looked over fence to see Sparrowhawk with a very noisy juv starling pinned to the floor. Dashed inside for my camera but as i leant over to get clear photo shot Sparrowhawk saw me and left its prey. Starling flew off as did Sparrowhawk. Rescued a starling but deprived the hawk of his dinner!!!!

Amazing speed of the hawk as it circled the local houses before disappearing.
