Post subject:  Future closure of Montagu's viewpoint

Hi all

All good things must come to an end, we're just not entirely sure when that will be exactly! We will definately be running the Monty's viewpoint at Digby until this Sunday (5 August), but then will be opening only a day by day basis. This is due to the juveniles fledging a lot earlier than we anticipated when we initially set up the project. After Sunday, if you wish to visit the viewpoint it would certainly be worth checking the RSPB website http://www.rspb.org.uk/brilliant/sites/montagusharrier/ for up to date information, and i'll try and post news here as soon as i can. In the meantime, enjoy the birds, they're not going to be there for ever...

I visited the viewpoint on wednesday and say well done to all keeping the site safe and at the same time accessable.
I'm now living north of newcastle and heard by the grapevine of the hen harriers debacle;eggs taken, then chicks drowned.eventually 3rd attempt successful.
