Cycled out to Branston Island and spent 3 hours looking over this large flooded area:-
1 Little & 1 Great Crested Grebe.
c10 Grey Herons.
lots of Geylag Geese and Shelduck.
Mallard, Teal and Shoveler.
1 female Marsh Harrier.
1 Hobby.
1 large falcon, possibly Saker hybrid?
7 Golden Plover flew over.
c70 Lapwings.
6 Ruff.
Several Snipe kept flying around but not possible to get a accurate count.
2 Black-tailed Godwits flew over.
3 Whimbrel flew over calling.
3 Greenshank flew in.
2 Green Sandpipers.
1 Common Sandpiper.
Also a flock of c30 small waders (probably Dunlin) flew up several times but always very distant and never seen on the ground.
c10 Yellow Wagtails.
The area looks as if it could be very productive this autumn but is very large and difficult to cover.
