Lesser White-fronted Goose today (19th) Baston & Langtoft Pits plus juv Little Ringed Plover for second day.

Also of mild interest, Grey Plover & Garganey on 17th.

There is only 1 accepted record for Lincs in 1943. Its helpful when referring to birds which are presumably escapes, to comment on that fact. I'm assuming there was nothing about it which might have suggested it was wild?

Apologies, I just considered it pretty obvious that this bird will be an escapee.

It is presumably the same bird that has been present for the past year in the PBC area, at Stilton and then Ferry Meadows.

Well, aside it not being in a cage, there wasn't alot going for it. Birds like this in my book are automatically dismissed as escapes (such as the Chiloe Wigeon back in Feb) and so I did not think to comment on that fact. The only wild Lesser White-fronts we are likely to get over here are going to be with wild geese - sadly the hybrids and Greylags that this bird associated with do not meet this criteria.
