Whilst at Churchill this morning a birder told me that the warden at Donna Nook has seen a Great White Egret on the reserve this morning. I went to Howden's where I was eventually able to see the bird in flight before it pitched down in a creek, straight out from the CP near the shingle ridge. I waited 45 minutes but it didn't reappear.
Also 6 Little Egrets and a Stonechat there, and large numbers of Redwing along the coastal strip.

Cheers

Steve

Apparently the GWE was seen by two reliable observers at Grainthorpe Haven last night, but no sign this morning.
